Finally Home Again!

My hubby & I have been traveling since May!  We are finally home & have no plans to go anywhere anytime soon.  I'm sure going to miss seeing our grands but it's so nice to be home.
I plan on getting back to blogging!
So, to start things off I will share a few layouts I've recently posted on our fanpage.

The long drive home...

My hubby & I have been gone for 3 weeks spending time with our daughter & her family.  They welcomed a new baby girl into their family on May 29th.  It was so great to be able to spend time with the new little one & her big sister.
We finally came home this week.  Big sister surprised us & came home with us.  We had a very long drive home!
Here's how the trip went...
We got all packed up and found a little space for Doodlebug & we were off.

Doodlebug helped us find the way with her very own map!
It's a very long drive home!  Doodlebug tells us that she has lots of "up downs" near her house & that she always knows when she is almost to Grandpa & Grandma's because there are no more "up downs"
We knew it would have to happen!  What would a summer road trip
 be without road construction?
 Time for a nap :)
Here's where the fun starts!  I got online & checked the roads before we headed home.  I saw that the road was now open so we decided on this route home.  It's a beautiful drive along the river.  From here our drive should be about 30 minutes, lol!  Just last week there was flood water all around this area.
There are still sandbags across the road and lots of water pumping but the road was open, lol!
A little ways down the road we started seeing lots more water and flooded houses but the road was still open, lol.
 Detour #1 of many!
Yet another detour but we still thought we might make it home.
Uh'oh, now it's getting really serious!  We ended up on a back road up & over the river bluff.  Yep, the road was closed!
Oh'no, another detour!  So close to home but so far away.  No way we were making it through this road.  Now is when the fun starts.  We now had to drive on tiny blacktop road and then a gravel road.  Did I mention we have been driving for over and hour now from when I said we are 30 minutes from home?

Finally after another 1 1/2 hours and about a
100 deer running out of in front of us, we made it home!

Introducing...

Our newest grandbaby!  She was born on May 29th & weighed 7 pounds 9 ounces, she is absolutely perfect!
I'll be referring to this one as Jellybean when I'm posting online.

That Pose!

Last night I made this fun page of my granddaugther.  I don't know what is up with her but lately when I try to take her picture, she always does this funky pose!  It's so funny so I had to scrapbook it!  I love all the funny little stages kids go through :)
For this page I used several patterns.  For the girl I used Taking a Stroll but I changed up the
hair & used a pattern from the Locks of Love.  The little potty girl at the top left & the geotag
at the bottom right are from the Elements Collection.

I thought the design on this shirt would make the cutest paper piecing :).
For this piecing I used the monkey holding balloons
in the Birthday Monkeys pattern collection.  For her outfit I used the outfit
from the singing girl in the Rock On pattern collection.

Tricia just realeased this week's super cute free pattern!

What a mess!

I have to share one quick picture!  I stayed up really late last night working on a page for an upcoming blog hop!  I have to share my mess with you!  This is what I woke up find on my scrap table!  I usually clean up as I go but it was 3 a.m. when I finished so I left it all on my table!  Can you believe what a messy scrapper I am?!?!

I have been absent for a couple of weeks for a good reason.  Our daughter & her family have moved!  We went down to help them.  Things are finally going into place for them.  They have struggled the past 5 years getting her husband through college & then a year of trying to find a job.  Well, he finally landed a great job & in his hometown!  He is now a full time police officer so they needed to move to town.  We jumped in the truck & went to help them.  It was not an easy move at all, one of those moves that if it could go wrong, it did.  It's all going to be okay, though :)  It's so fun to see things finally coming together for them.  They have a beautiful daughter, which you see in my pages & another due in 6 weeks...life is good!

Here's a picture of our granddaughter, she's so excited to be moving & have her own room!

Here she is looking out the window with our dog.  She was so sad when we left, yes she missed us but what brought her to tears was leaving Mitzi!

The kids live in a very beautiful part of the country so I had to share a few of my favorite pictures.  This is one of our favorite places to visit when we go down.  The spring is so beautiful, and the water so relaxing!

Here she is enjoying playing in her new room!

Finally, the first cone of the season!
She was so happy the Dairy Shack finally opened up!

This is our favorite picnic spot!  While we were there we celebrated her 5th birthday.  She got a Barbie fishing pole & had to try it out right away.  I love these pictures of her in her pretty dress & fishing, so her.  She loves to be a little diva but loves the outdoors all at the same time.  She is going to be a very original little girl!

Here's another view of the spring.

Well, that's a summary of where I've been this past week.
It's was a fun & exhausting week all rolled together!

Design Team Monday!

It's Monday again!  Here at Little Scraps that at least means something fun!  It's time for a new challenge!  This week we are having an "Anything Goes" challenge.  So, if you have been thinking about joining this would be a great week to give it a try.
For my challenge project I made this page with a huge moose head.
My Mom got this cute shirt for my grandson for Christmas.  He LOVES this shirt!  When he's asked about his shirt he always shows off the wiggle eyes.
I had to make a page highlighting his favorite shirt. Don't worry, there is journaling on the back all about his shirt.  I always leave a message on the back of my pages for my grandkids to find someday.  I sign & date it the day that I made the page.  My thought is someday when I'm gone & my scrapbooks are being seperated for each of my grandchildren that they will start to see all the little notes and it will be something
new from mefor them to ready & enjoy.  I often tuck hidden journaling
somewhere on the front of the pages, too.
So, I used the Puzzle Pals moose pattern for this page.  Since I took this picture I finally found much larger wiggle eyes and changed those out.  It looks much better :)
Have a blessed day & thanks for stopping by my blog.

Piggy Toes

Today I want to share this fun page I made of my granddaugters toes.  I know this is such a silly page :)  She will love this when she sees it.  I can't wait to hear her giggle and say "Grandma that's a silly page", which she will.
For this page I used the feet from the Girl in Capris pattern collection.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I hope you are having a great day!
